Sebastian's Room

[Scene: A rooftop terrace with a view of the city skyline. The sun is setting, casting a warm glow over everything. Sebastian and Olivia are sitting at a small table, enjoying a glass of water, the atmosphere light but with a subtle tension in the air.]

Sebastian:
(taking a sip of his drink, then leaning back in his chair)
You know, I was talking to some investors today. They’re all in on that new project I mentioned last week. Everything’s falling into place, the numbers are looking good... it’s just, you know, all the usual grind.

Olivia:
(nods, smiling)
I’m not surprised. You’re always so on top of everything, Seb. It’s why I admire your work ethic. You’ve got this natural drive.

Sebastian:
(half-smiling, but his tone shifts slightly)
Yeah... It’s kind of my thing, right? Business, strategy, pushing the limits. It’s like sports—always trying to outdo myself, always trying to be the best.

Olivia:
(teasingly)
You’re like a machine, sometimes. How do you keep it all in motion?

Sebastian:
(laughs softly, then looks at her seriously)
I don’t know... (pauses, then sighs) Sometimes I think I get so caught up in it all that I forget to... feel what really matters.

Olivia:
(raising an eyebrow)
What do you mean?

Sebastian:
(sits up straighter, his eyes meeting hers)
I mean, I’m always chasing these big wins, right? But in the middle of all that, I’ve realized... I’ve been so focused on business, and on making moves, that I’ve missed out on something that actually matters more to me.

Olivia:
(slowly, sensing the change in his tone)
Sebastian... What are you saying?

Sebastian:
(leans forward, his voice softens)
I’ve been talking a lot about business, and about sports, and all the things I think I should be focused on. But the truth is, I’ve been holding back from talking about... how much I care about you, Olivia.

Olivia:
(heart beating faster, softly smiling)
You don’t have to hold back, Seb. You know you can tell me anything.

Sebastian:
(slowly, but with sincerity)
I know. It’s just... sometimes I get so caught up in the idea of success, of doing things right... I forget what feels right. (pauses, looking into her eyes) What feels right to me, right now... is you.

Olivia:
(stunned but moved)
Sebastian...

Sebastian:
(takes a deep breath)
You mean more to me than anything I’ve ever worked for. And I think it’s time I stop pretending like I can just keep pushing for everything else without telling you this. (his voice becomes more confident) I love you, Olivia. I’ve loved you for a long time, and I need you to know that.

Olivia:
(surprised, but her eyes soften with affection)
Sebastian... (reaches out, takes his hand) I’ve loved you too. I don’t think you’ve ever been unsure about that, but hearing you say it like this... (smiles warmly) It means more than you could know.

Sebastian:
(smiling, his face lighting up)
I’m glad. I just... I don’t want to hide how I feel anymore. Business can wait. Sports can wait. But this? You and me? That’s what matters.

Olivia:
(squeezing his hand gently)
I love that you’re finally saying it. We’ve both been so focused on everything else... I think we both knew, but hearing you say it... (teasing) I can’t believe it took you this long!

Sebastian:
(laughs softly)
I guess I just needed the right moment. And it’s right here. With you.

Olivia:
(softly)
It’s perfect.

Sebastian:
(smiling, a bit bashful now)
I mean it, Olivia. No more distractions. No more business talk. Just you and me.

Olivia:
(smiling, leaning in)
I couldn’t ask for anything more.

[They share a quiet moment, the tension between them finally easing as they both savor the connection they've been holding back.]
